Real Madrid have had an eventful transfer window for sure, even though they did not end up getting blockbuster moves for either Kylian Mbappe or Erling Haaland done. The club have made two significant additions to their squad in the form of Aurelien Tchouameni, from AS Monaco, and Antonio Rudiger, as a free agent after his Chelsea exit.

On the other hand, the likes of Gareth Bale, Isco, Marcelo and Casemiro are no longer at Real Madrid, and more could follow suit before the transfer window slams shut this summer.

Marco Asensio’s future has been up in the air all summer, with the Spaniard in the final year of his contract with the club and not agreeing to an extension yet. We have only seen him feature once, as a late substitute against Celta Vigo.

Now, Carlo Ancelotti has confirmed that Asensio is interested in a move away from Real Madrid . As reported by 90min, the manager told Movistar:

“I think he is looking at something to see if he can leave.

“If he does not leave, he will continue to be a Madrid player.”

Ancelotti has confirmed that the Real Madrid star is looking for an exit

When Asensio had first broken into the first-team picture at Real Madrid, he was viewed by many as a future superstar for Los Blancos. It is safe to say that things have not gone as expected.

Asensio is nowhere near even being a starter for Real Madrid at this point of time. In fact, it would be a surprise if we see him feature every week as a substitute at this point of time, considering the fact that his future at the club is uncertain.

Thus, at this point of time, Asensio moving away from Real Madrid might turn out to be the best step for all involved.

It could allow Asensio to go and be a first-team star elsewhere, while Real Madrid will get a transfer fee out of his departure. The likes of Manchester United, Liverpool, Arsenal, Newcastle United and a few others have been linked with a potential move for the Spaniard.
