Finally, L’equipe has reported that due to the failure to organize the final, two Liverpool fans have committed suicide due to the psychological problems they experienced, as the trauma they experienced in 1989, in the cup semi-final between Liverpool and Nottingham Forest, where 97 people died and 766 were injured due to overcrowding at the entrance to the stadium. In Britain this is considered the biggest disaster in sports history. The match was postponed and then played again at Old Trafford.

The suicide of two people has also been confirmed by the organization that supports the survivors of the Hillsborough tragedy, where the president Peter Scarfe himself, in a conference he organized, regarding this topic, stated something like this, confirming that the victims were aged 52 and 63 years old. He also emphasized that there is no doubt, since for him this act was carried out because the last final of the Champions League brought back the trauma of 1989.

The failure of the final was a big setback just three days after the great success in organizing the Conference League final in Tirana.
