But the media on the island now reveal an interesting conversation between Rangnik and Cristiano Ronaldo last season, where the Portuguese pointed out one of the culprits for the club’s bad results, and that was one of his teammates.
According to media reports, Ronaldo asked Rangnik to talk to the club and find a solution for Harry Maguire, as he believed that he was not worthy and quality enough to wear the shirt of the “red devils”.
At that meeting, Rangnick reportedly indicated to him that he did not have the authority to directly remove Maguire as team captain because he did not want to make plans behind another player’s back, so he did not seek any advice from the club’s owners on the matter.
