For five years, Wayne Rooney and Cristiano Ronaldo were teammates at Manchester United and won a bunch of trophies together.
Rooney is one year younger than his former teammate, but he has already retired, while Ronaldo is still on the football field, although it seems that he is struggling more in the last season.
“Cristiano and Messi are two of the best football players of all time, but time does not come in a period. It is clear that Ronaldo is no longer 22-23 years old and I believe that it is not easy for him. Knowing him, it is difficult for him to sit on the bench and watch the game from the sidelines. “I believe that if he is patient, his chance will come again, that’s the only way he can fight to return to the starting line-up,” said Rooney.
Ronaldo scored only one goal for Manchester United this season and that was from a penalty, in the Europa League, against Sheriff.
