The new manager of Manchester United, Eric Ten Haag, subtly asked for new reinforcements for the team for the season that started last week.

In the lead-up to the second round match against Brentford, he addressed the problems he is facing and the small pool of players he can count on.

“It is better that the possible reinforcements are brought in as early as possible because that way they will not need a long time to adapt and enter the process. We are very thin at the moment, especially in midfield. This means that we are only one injury away from a big problem,” said the Dutch expert.

United have signed three players this summer, but they are far from world football’s elite: defender Tyrell Malacia, stopper Lisandro Martinez and midfielder Christian Eriksen. The club’s desire is Marko Arnautovic, Adrien Rabiot and Frankie de Jong, but as time passes, it becomes clear that these transfers are difficult to realize.
