Erling Haaland has debuted with a goal in the Premier League, also scoring the first goal for Manchester City in the 2022/23 edition.

The reigning champions begin their title defense away to West Ham United.

After 36 minutes of play, the first chance for a goal came for the Citizens and they took advantage of it.

Alphonse Areola brought down the opponent inside the penalty area and referee Michael Oliver awarded the penalty.

From the penalty spot, Haaland proved to be accurate and scored for 1-0, thus opening the account of goals in the Premier League.
