Bayern Munich striker Lennart Karl has made a more cautious statement ahead of the Champions League clash with Real Madrid, after previously causing a stir among Bayern fans by admitting he would have no problem playing for the Spanish club one day.
His previous statement had caused discontent among some Bayern Munich fans, with the 18-year-old quickly realizing the huge backlash that followed.
Asked about the upcoming match against Real Madrid, Karl chose a more measured tone.
“A lot, of course. It’s a great stadium. I’m just really looking forward to playing against them,” he told Sky Germany’s Kerry Hau.
This time, the young talent did not fall into the “trap” of questions that could reignite controversy, avoiding any statements that would reignite debates.
Meanwhile, Real Madrid and Bayern Munich will face off in the quarterfinals of the Champions League, with the Bavarians considered favorites thanks to their fantastic form.
