Barcelona are looking to sign a new striker this summer, with it increasingly looking like one of their current centre-forwards will leave when the transfer window opens.
At this stage, Julian Alvarez is the main target, although a deal with Atletico Madrid is expected to be extremely difficult, even if the Catalans secure the long-awaited return to La Liga’s 1-1 draw.
The club’s plan is to bring in a top-level center forward, while one of Robert Lewandowski and Ferran Torres will remain as an alternative from the bench.
However, Alvarez’s transfer may be out of reach, and although Barcelona will try to make the deal happen, it has already begun preparing alternatives in case the Madrid club does not open negotiations.
According to reports, one of the alternative options that Barcelona have identified is Victor Osimhen.
The current Galatasaray striker is highly regarded within the Catalan club, particularly for his impressive statistics of 56 goals in 70 appearances since moving to Turkey.
However, the report highlights that Barcelona’s management have some doubts about Osimhen, mainly regarding his attitude and behavior.
The manner of his departure from Napoli in 2024 continues to linger in the memory of the club’s decision-makers, which means he is not considered among the main options of plan B.
Barcelona continue to explore the market for alternatives to Alvarez, while two options have already been ruled out.
