Kylian Mbappe Looking to Break World Cup Record

Real Madrid forward Kylian Mbappe continues to shine on the World Cup stage, reaching 12 goals in just 14 matches – a statistic that puts him very close to the historic record of Miroslav Klose, who has scored 16 goals in 24 appearances.

The France captain remains focused despite the chance to make history. In an interview with FOX Deportes, Mbappe described the possibility of becoming the top scorer in World Cup history as “absolutely surreal”, admitting it is hard to believe.

“The World Cup is the pinnacle of football, where the greatest players in history play. To be close to such a record is something extraordinary.”

However, he stressed that the main objective remains success with the national team and not personal achievements.

“My goal is to help the team and get to the final again. Records are nice, but the most important thing is the team.”

His incredible form at just 25 years old clearly shows why he is considered one of the greatest talents in world football. If he continues at this pace, surpassing Klose’s record looks a completely achievable goal during this World Cup.
