According to Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano, Barcelona have opened contract negotiations with the camp of Inter star Alessandro Bastoni.
Negotiations have already begun and include contractual terms, salary and other key details, as the Catalan club aims to transfer the Inter central defender to the Camp Nou.
Bastoni is seen as a key target to strengthen the defensive department, especially due to uncertainties surrounding the futures of Ronald Araujo and Andreas Christensen.
The possibility of selling Araujo or leaving Christensen has been discussed within the club, with the aim of securing funds and balancing finances according to Financial Fair Play regulations.
Barcelona consider the Italian defender a long-term solution that fits coach Hansi Flick’s tactical demands.
Negotiations are still in the initial stages, but the fact that they have begun clearly shows Barcelona’s seriousness in transferring one of the most highly rated center-backs in Europe during the summer.
