Former Ballon D’Or Winner on Vini Jr – He Constantly Provokes then Complains and Cries

Legendary German footballer Lothar Matthäus has harshly criticized the behavior of the “royal club” ahead of the big clash between Bayern Munich and Real Madrid in the Champions League quarterfinals, analyzing not only the match but also the actions of the leaders which, according to him, are damaging the club’s reputation.

His words, which carry particular weight in the world of football, will certainly not resonate well in Madrid.

On the Sky 90 program, Matthaus spoke about the behavior of Real’s Brazilian star, Vinicius Junior, who was also present in the media.

“Vinicius is a great player, but he provokes endlessly. When you finally knock him down on the pitch, he just complains and then cries. That’s typical of him,” he declared.

He also criticized Real Madrid’s boycott of the 2024 Ballon d’Or, calling it an unacceptable decision.

“Rodri was declared the best player in the world, and then they said: ‘Yes, it’s unfair, one of us should have won’. So they boycotted. This is not done. Out of respect for the opponents, the teams and the other players, this is simply not acceptable. All the media saw it negatively, and so a club with a great history is losing some of its prestige,” declared the German who himself had won it.

The advantage for Bayern Munich

Matthaus said that Real Madrid’s behavior in recent years is not positive and believes Bayern Munich has the advantage before the first leg at the Santiago Bernabeu.

“I see some weaknesses at Real Madrid that I didn’t see in the great Real of the past. This could also be related to the changes in coaches and it leaves its mark. Mbappe has been injured for a long time, there is a lot of discussion about Vinicius and there are other problems at Real that I see as a big advantage for Bayern,” he declared.

Matthäus is considered one of the best German players in history.
