It’s surprising that one of the most successful coaches of recent years, Jurgen Klopp, has been away from the bench for so long.
And that’s why, whenever the German makes a public appearance, questions about his return to top-level football are constant. Today, he once again ruled himself out as Real Madrid coach in the near future.
It was during his presentation as Telekom’s new commentator for the upcoming World Cup that the former Liverpool and Borussia Dortmund coach responded to absolutely everything that was asked of him regarding his future.
Regarding the hypothetical scenario in which Jules Nagelsmann does not continue as coach of the German national team after the World Cup, Klopp does not rule himself out in the future, although he admits that he has “no plans in this direction.”
“For my age, I’m quite advanced, but I still have a long way to go before I retire. Who knows what the next few years will bring? I haven’t made any plans in that direction,” Klopp said.
Another “no” to Real Madrid
This is not the first time the German has been linked with the Real Madrid job. And it is not the first time, and probably won’t be the last, that he has turned down the opportunity to manage the team from the Santiago Bernabeu.
“This has always been written by the same people. If Real Madrid had called me even once, we would have known. But this is absurd because they have never called me. Not even once,” Klopp explained regarding Real Madrid.
