Max Allegri has admitted that the Scudetto race is over for Milan, after the defeat to Napoli, so they must fight for their primary objective, a return to the Champions League.
The Rossoneri made big changes for the match against Napoli, with Allegri benching Rafael Leao and Christian Pulisic, who were not fully fit, in favour of the duo of Niclas Fullkrug and Christopher Nkunku.
Napoli is now in second place with 65 points, while Milan drops to third position with 63 points.
“Scudetto? We’re out now. Inter have a 9-point advantage and Napoli are ahead. We have to think game by game.”
“We have to stay calm and maintain our advantage to achieve qualification for the Champions League,” declared Allegri.
The coach also stressed the importance of winning future matches and recovering injured players, to keep the team competitive until the end of the season.
