Vinicius Junior has spoken openly about his difficult relationship with former coach Xabi Alonso, during a press conference ahead of Real Madrid’s match against Bayern Munich in the Champions League.
Recalling a tense moment during an El Clasico, the Brazilian admitted his mistake.
“It was an unpleasant moment and I apologized to everyone. I like to play every game and I wasn’t substituted before. Later, with a clearer mind, you realize you were wrong. I’m young and every day is a new experience to improve.”
As for not saying goodbye to Alonso when he left, Vinicius linked this to a lack of tactical compatibility.
“I played, but not many minutes. Every coach has his own methods and I didn’t manage to create the connection he was looking for. However, it was a useful experience.”
In contrast, he expressed great appreciation for current coach Alvaro Arbeloa, highlighting the strong relationship between them.
“I hope to continue playing under Arbeloa, because I have a wonderful relationship with him. He has always given me confidence.”
We remind you that the match between Real and Bayern takes place this Tuesday at 21:00 at the “Santiago Bernabeu”.
