You want to be happy, learn to be silent

How many things, people or opportunities are lost by believing that we can emerge victorious from discussions instead of silence. How many opportunities to be happy we see fade away. Yes, because one of the secrets to understanding well-being and peace of mind is cultivated with silence, avoiding useless discussions. Avoiding discovering many things about ourselves.

“Silence is the goodness of the universe”

Thus writes Abdelmajid Benjelloun, a Moroccan poet and writer who has experienced the state of being happy for the open and silent spaces of the Atlas. In reality, we live in a world that does not value silence and actually encourages us to speak more and louder than others. In fact, it seems that if you do not manage to shine by saying even the smallest details, touching on the interlocutors, you do not feel good. Because, often, saying everything does not attract attention and only distracts you from being happy and makes you experience great frustration.

Education begins with oneself

Plutarch argued that nature creates a fair way for everyone to find joy and be happy. In fact, he said that it gives us two ears and a tongue! A perfect joke to reflect on this aspect.

In reality, what happens in all areas of daily life is the opposite. We do not listen and always speak, often saying inappropriate things! We forget that the principles of education and common sense invite us to the opposite, just to be happy and have greater peace of mind. And since we cannot wait to ask for what we cannot give, it is right that the first reflection begins with ourselves.

The value of not talking too much

Practising silence and not knowing many things does not simply mean greater calm, but also avoids falling victim to envy and jealousy. While more and more people show interest, or stimulate conversations, with the sole purpose of using information to do harm.

In fact, more and more often we find ourselves involved in rumors and false truths that have the sole purpose of taking away happiness and well-being from others. That is why being happy goes through silence and the ability to control what one has to say, especially to unknown people.

And considering that trust and respect are values that are acquired over time, it is good to learn how to give confidences and small secrets, so as not to be disappointed.
