Jennifer Lawrence reveals who she found most difficult to work with

Jennifer Lawrence has reflected on her successful film career and collaborations with many major names, revealing that one A-list actor in particular was the hardest for her to work with — but not for the reasons many might expect.

Over the years, she has appeared in a wide range of films and worked with actors from all backgrounds, giving her extensive experience on set.

Speaking about the filming of the dark comedy Don’t Look Up, Lawrence revealed that the most challenging part for her was working with Jonah Hill.

Although the film also starred Meryl Streep and Timothée Chalamet, Hill — who played Jason Orlean — made it extremely difficult for Lawrence to keep a straight face during filming.

“It was very, very hard to film with Jonah and not ruin take after take from laughing,” Lawrence said, according to Unilad.

In a 2023 interview with Vanity Fair, she explained that many of Hill’s lines were improvised. “One day we spent the entire day just letting him improvise insults at me. It was incredible,” she said. She added, “He’s a master — a master of comedy. We all improvised a bit, but not as well as Jonah,” noting that both he and Meryl Streep were especially skilled at improvisation.

In a recent interview with V Magazine, Lawrence also spoke about a collaboration she found enjoyable in a very different way. She praised Robert Pattinson, with whom she starred in Die My Love.

“Rob brought such a special dimension to the film,” she said, adding, “I’ve never worked with an actor who was in such a similar phase of life as me. Rob is incredibly intelligent and very sweet. I really loved working with him.”

Don’t Look Up is available to stream on Netflix.
