Chelsea have secured the future of one of the team’s most important midfielders, officially announcing that Moises Caicedo has signed a new long-term contract that keeps him at Stamford Bridge until 2033.

The Ecuadorian midfielder joined the Londoners from Brighton in August 2023 and quickly became one of the main pillars of the team, being considered today as one of the best defensive midfielders in the world.

So far, Caicedo has made 140 appearances for Chelsea, playing a key role in their Conference League and Club World Cup triumphs.

“I am very happy to have extended my contract with Chelsea. I believe in this team and this club, and I know we are moving in the right direction. We have just started together.”

“There is still a lot to achieve and I am very eager to improve every day. I want to win more trophies with Chelsea… my dream is to become a legend of this club,” Caicedo declared.

On the eve of the end of his third season with the club, the 24-year-old has consolidated his status as a leader in the team.

He was named “Player of the Season” and “Player of the Year” for the 2024/25 season, after helping the team win two major trophies.

During this season, Caicedo has also held the captain’s armband in several matches, most recently in the victory over Port Vale in the quarter-finals of the FA Cup.
