Liverpool winger Mohamed Salah will miss the rest of the season after suffering a thigh injury in the 3-1 win over Crystal Palace, Egypt national team coach Ibrahim Hassan said yesterday.
Liverpool have yet to comment on Salah’s condition, however, Hassan claims the Egypt international has played his last game for the Reds.
“He has suffered a tendon rupture and it will take four weeks to recover,” Hassan told Reuters.
As a reminder, Salah will leave the club at the end of the season after nine years at Anfield. His farewell will be marked by words rather than goals, as he will address the fans after the final game of the season against Brentford.
Until the end of the season, Liverpool will play four more games, two at home against Chelsea and Brentford, while Manchester United and Aston Villa will play away.
Salah, who is Liverpool’s third-highest scorer in history, has scored 12 goals and provided nine assists in all competitions this season.
Hassan added that Salah will be ready for the 2026 World Cup, where Egypt will play against Belgium, New Zealand and Iran in Group G.
