Barcelona Want To Sign Belgian Wonderkid in The Summer

News

Barcelona are closely following Ajax’s Belgian talent Mika Godts and are considering the possibility of transferring him during the summer transfer window.

According to reports from Mundo Deportivo, an observer from the Catalan club will be present at this weekend’s match between Ajax and PSV Eindhoven, to closely analyze the performance of the 20-year-old striker.

Godts is having an impressive season and is valued for his speed, dribbling and ability to penetrate the area, qualities that make him an attractive option for the left wing of Barcelona’s attack.

The Catalans are looking for alternatives in this department, especially with uncertainty surrounding the future of Marcus Rashford, who has been on the radar, but remains an expensive option due to the price tag asked by Manchester United.

However, competition for the Belgian’s services is expected to be fierce. Representatives from Chelsea and Arsenal are also expected to be in the stands, with both sides also interested in his development.

Godts is a product of KRC Genk’s academy and joined Ajax in January 2023. After a short spell with the U21 team, he was promoted to the first team, where he has made over 100 official appearances, contributing with important goals and assists. His current contract runs until the summer of 2029.

Barcelona are seeing him as an investment for the future, but it remains to be seen whether they will manage to win the race for one of European football’s most promising talents.

The 20-year-old has scored 16 goals and assisted on 13 others in 39 matches this season.
