Barcelona midfielder Fermin Lopez has ruled out a move away this summer after being heavily linked with a move to Chelsea last year.
The 22-year-old’s impressive form led Barcelona to extend his contract in January until 2031, thus securing his long-term future.
However, talk about his future has never stopped and it has often been reported that Fermin could be Barcelona’s sacrifice to balance the club’s finances.
Barcelona reject €120m bid for star
The Spanish star himself, who sees his future at the Camp Nou club, has denied this, asking fans to remain calm.
“I think everyone can calm down. These things happened last year, there are always rumors and things like that that can come out, but I was very calm because I wanted to be at Barça. I’ve always shown that,” Fermin initially said.
“I’ve always wanted to be here, it’s been my lifelong dream, and now that I’m here I’m trying to enjoy it to the fullest and stay here for as long as God wants. The truth is that I’m very happy and I hope I can stay here forever,” the Spanish star concluded.
