Federico Valverde has been in fantastic form this season and scored another masterful goal against Sevilla last night, but in the final minutes of the game it could all have ended in the worst possible way.
Last night, Real Madrid managed to beat Sevilla 3:1 in front of its spectators and get three new points, and the royal club is still the only club in Spain that has not lost so far this season.
Although they were without Karim Benzema last night, in the end Carlo Ancelotti’s team managed to get three points easier than expected.
Sevilla was 1:1 before the end of the game, but Real decided everything in two minutes. First Lucas scored in the 79th minute for 2:1, and two minutes later Valverde scored a masterful goal for the final 3:1.
In addition to Benzema, the Uruguayan is by far in the best form in Real this season, and for him this was already the fourth goal he scored from outside the penalty area this season.
However, it could all have ended in the worst possible way in the 95th minute of the match when Papu Gomez caused the fury of the Real Madrid fans with an audacious move.
The Argentine unnecessarily fouled Valverde in one of the last actions of the match, and according to many, he deserved a straight red card for his foul.
Gomez first landed a knee on Valverde’s thigh and that wasn’t enough, then stepped on his left foot and it was clear that the Argentine wanted to hurt the Kings’ midfielder.
