Tim Curry has taken a flashback to 2012, describing the day he suffered a stroke. He revealed that he had no idea anything was wrong until a masseuse suggested he go to the hospital. He had no idea anything was wrong, as he felt no discomfort.

The actor, known for his roles in films such as “The Rocky Horror Picture Show,” “Clue,” “Annie,” “It and Home Alone 2,” gave an interview to Turner Classic Movies that aired on CBS Sunday Morning, where he shared the details of that fateful day.

“It was so weird,” he said at the beginning. “I was actually getting a massage and the person giving me the massage said, ‘I’m worried about you. I think we should call a doctor.’ I felt really good. I had no symptoms that I was aware of. I wasn’t in any pain,” he explained.

Curry learned of his health problem after being hospitalized and immediately thought of his father, who had died of a stroke when he was 10 years old. “I was scared,” he confessed, referring to his reaction when he learned he might suffer the same fate as his father.

He then underwent brain surgery. “I had to learn to talk again. It was really weird. I hated not being able to talk,” he noted of the rehabilitation that followed. In addition, the left side of his face was paralyzed. “My face was tilted a little bit,” Curry explained.

The 79-year-old actor explained that he is not afraid of the inevitable end. “I am not afraid of death. I try to avoid it,” he said with a laugh. “I think we all have it, but I doubt that I will welcome it in the end. I think it can be very comforting to say goodbye and I want to deserve it,” he concluded.
