Carlo Ancelotti, in an interview with Gazzetta dello Sport, spoke openly about several football topics, including the current state of Serie A. The Brazil national team coach described the league as exciting and well balanced.

“It is a beautiful and balanced championship, and seeing Roma at the top is a surprise,” Ancelotti said. “With Gasperini I have Wesley, and here in my staff I have Juan, the former Roma player. We often talk about Roma. I am happy to see them so high in the standings.”

Ancelotti also discussed Milan, the club closest to his heart. He praised their form and highlighted a key advantage.

“Milan are doing well because they benefit from not playing in Europe and from Allegri’s practical approach,” he explained. “Max has simplified what many others try to complicate. You really do not need much more.”

The coach then spoke warmly about his former midfielder Luka Modric, offering nothing but admiration.

“I am very happy that Modric is still performing at such a high level. For me, it is no surprise,” Ancelotti said. “He has the World Cup as a target and plays only once a week. Last season at Real Madrid he was the only player who did not miss a single training session.”

When asked how Modric continues to excel, Ancelotti gave a simple answer.

“It is genetics and professionalism. He is still one of the best midfielders in the world. I have read that they are discussing another year of contract. He can easily continue at the top level.”
