AC Milan and Ajax are in the final stages of exchanging documents for the transfer of Maximilian Ibrahimović, who is set to leave the Rossoneri and begin a new chapter of his career in the Netherlands.
Nearly 22 years after Zlatan Ibrahimović first arrived in Amsterdam, another Ibrahimović will pull on the iconic Ajax shirt. While the move inevitably brings back memories of the past, Maximilian’s journey is one with a completely new story waiting to be written.
The deal has been agreed as a loan with an option to buy valued at €3.5 million. Although Milan initially retain control over the future of the winger born in 2006, the Italian club have also secured a sell-on percentage, underlining their continued belief in the potential of the young Swedish attacker.
Maximilian Ibrahimović has impressed with Milan Futuro, featuring first in Serie C and later in Serie D, where he showed steady development and consistency in his performances. This season, he has made 16 appearances, contributing five goals and four assists.
A move to Ajax is seen as a major step forward in his development, offering Ibrahimović the chance to grow in a club renowned for nurturing young talent.
