Barcelona have already begun planning for next season, with the club’s hierarchy aiming to strengthen at least three key positions in the squad.
The Catalans’ strategy is clear: signing established players who are ready to make an immediate impact at the highest level. Although the outcome of the current season will influence final decisions, the sporting management has already started work with a clear objective — reinforcing the team in three specific areas of the pitch.
According to Mundo Deportivo, following several meetings with the coaching staff, the club has agreed on the need to sign a left-footed centre-back, an attacking winger, and a striker who could eventually replace Robert Lewandowski. In all three cases, Barcelona are targeting proven players with experience at the elite level of European football.
In defence, the dream signing for the Blaugrana remains Croatia international Joško Gvardiol (Manchester City, 23). However, given the significant financial difficulties involved in such a move, alternatives include Inter defender Alessandro Bastoni (26) and Borussia Dortmund’s Nico Schlotterbeck (26).
Meanwhile, the targets for the other two positions are more clearly defined. For the wing, Barcelona are seriously considering activating the €30 million purchase option for Marcus Rashford (Manchester United, 28), who is currently on loan.
As for the centre-forward role, the Catalans are determined to go all out to secure the signing of Argentine striker Julián Álvarez (Atlético Madrid, 25), seen as the long-term successor to Lewandowski
