Having children 65 years apart, former Formula 1 boss Bernie Ecclestone talks about the unique experience of being a father!
Former Formula 1 legend Bernie Ecclestone has spoken openly about his family life and the unique experience of being a father to a 70-year-old daughter and a 5-year-old son. At 95, Ecclestone continues to amaze with his energy and calm approach to life and parenting. Ecclestone is a father of four; his eldest daughter, Deborah, 70, is from his first marriage to Ivy Bamford; while Tamara (41) and Petra (36) are from his second marriage to Slavica Radić. His youngest son, Ace, is the fruit of love with his current wife, Fabiana, 49.
After selling Formula 1 to Liberty Media for around £3.44 billion, Ecclestone has more time to devote to his family. In an interview with the German media Bild, he proudly said: “Ace is a wonderful boy. He is smart, curious and interested in everything”. Fabiana, his wife, added that the co-parenting works very well: “We work as a team. When I lose my temper, Bernie talks to Ace calmly and explains that he cannot watch TV for half an hour until he finishes his homework”.
Ecclestone admitted that the feeling of having children with a 65-year age difference between them is special: “It is strange and wonderful at the same time. When you look at the older daughter and the younger son, you realise how much has happened in between”. In the same interview, he also revealed an interesting detail about his friendships, saying that he has only had four real friends and three of them have passed away.
