Egyptian star Mohamed Salah has made a surprise announcement, confirming that he will leave Liverpool at the end of this season.

Salah’s current contract expires in the summer of 2027, but the striker will leave a year earlier.

“The day has come. This is the first part of my farewell,” Salah said through tears in an emotional video posted on his social media.

“I will leave Liverpool at the end of the season. I never imagined how much this club, this city and these people would become a part of my life. It is not just a football club: it is history, passion, soul.”

“I want to thank everyone who has been part of the club throughout my time here. I don’t have enough words.”

“Leaving is never easy. You have given me the most beautiful moments of my life. This club will always be my home. Because of all of you, I will never be alone,” the Egyptian’s message read.

Salah joined Liverpool from Roma in 2017 and has since won almost every major trophy possible at Anfield, scoring over 250 goals and becoming a club legend.
