Royal Drama Explodes? Netflix Boss Refuses to Speak to Meghan Markle Without a Lawyer

News Showbiz

Tensions may be rising behind the scenes as shocking new reports suggest a growing rift between Netflix and the royal couple, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry.

According to insiders, Netflix co-CEO Ted Sarandos has reportedly taken a surprising step—unfollowing Meghan on Instagram, along with her lifestyle brand “As Ever.” What’s raising eyebrows even more is that he was once among the first major figures to support her return to social media in early 2025.

Soon after, Netflix’s Chief Content Officer Bela Bajaria also reportedly unfollowed Meghan and her brand, sparking speculation that something serious may be happening behind closed doors.

But the real shock? Sources cited in reports claim Sarandos has allegedly said he would not engage in conversations with Meghan without a lawyer present—a statement that has fueled rumors of major tension.

Despite the buzz, Netflix has firmly denied these claims, calling them “completely untrue.” Meghan’s legal representative, Michael J. Kump, also pushed back, insisting that she communicates regularly with Sarandos and has even visited his home without any legal mediation.

Still, signs of strain continue to surface. Meghan’s lifestyle brand “As Ever,” which launched alongside her show With Love, Meghan, has reportedly shut down after failing to meet expectations.

Adding to the drama, Netflix officially ended part of its collaboration with the couple on March 6, and their show will not return for a third season, continuing only with occasional specials.

This comes as a sharp contrast to their earlier success—especially their 2022 documentary Harry & Meghan, which became one of the most-watched documentary debuts in Netflix history.

Insiders now claim Netflix may be growing “tired” of repeated themes surrounding the couple’s departure from royal life, while some industry figures are reportedly hesitant to work with them.

Even so, it’s not over yet. Their company, Archewell, still has two projects in development with Netflix, including adaptations of popular novels.

So is this just rumor… or the beginning of a major fallout? One thing’s certain—the story is far from over. 👀
