Timothée Chalamet Makes Oscars History with Record-Breaking Nomination

News

Timothée Chalamet is celebrating a major career milestone after receiving a historic Academy Award nomination that officially places him among Hollywood’s elite.

On Thursday morning, the 30-year-old actor earned his third Oscar nomination for Best Actor, this time for his performance in Marty Supreme. The film emerged as a major awards contender, securing nine nominations in total and cementing its status as one of this year’s frontrunners.

Shortly after the nominations were announced, Chalamet took to Instagram to share media coverage of the news, captioning it simply: “BIG DREAM!”
He followed up with another post encouraging fans to “dream big,” while sharing the official poster for Marty Supreme and reminding audiences that the film hits IMAX theaters on January 30.

With this latest nomination, Chalamet has officially become the youngest actor since Marlon Brando in the 1950s to receive three Best Actor Oscar nominations, a feat that further solidifies his status as one of the defining actors of his generation.

Chalamet received his first nomination in 2018 for Call Me By Your Name, followed by a second in 2025 for his critically acclaimed portrayal of Bob Dylan in A Complete Unknown.
Last year, he narrowly missed out on the award, losing to Adrien Brody for The Brutalist.

The actor has previously spoken openly about the emotional toll of awards-season losses, describing the experience as painful but motivating — a mindset that appears to be paying off as he continues to break records and redefine success at a young age.

As Oscars night approaches, all eyes will be on Chalamet to see whether this historic nomination will finally translate into his first Academy Award win
