We Found Out Why Atletico Madrid Reduced Nico Gonzalez’s Minutes

Atletico Madrid have decided not to activate their €32 million purchase option for winger Nico Gonzalez, who is owned by Juventus.

The Madrid club’s directors and coach Diego Simeone have agreed to limit the player’s playing time during the season so that the buyout clause does not become mandatory.

In this way, “Los Colchoneros” intend to enter into negotiations with the Italian club for a possible transfer at a lower cost than that initially determined.

The Argentine footballer’s contract with Juventus is valid until June 30, 2029, while he is currently playing on loan at Atletico Madrid.

During this season, Gonzalez has scored 3 goals in 33 appearances with the Spanish team.
