Liam Payne’s sister on the first anniversary of his tragic death: His cruel death will never make sense

On the first anniversary of Liam Payne’s death, his sister Ruth shared an extremely emotional message on Instagram, calling the loss of her brother cruel and senseless.

The famous One Direction singer died in October 2024, at the age of 31, after falling from a hotel balcony in Argentina.

The toxicology report revealed the presence of alcohol, cocaine and an antidepressant in his system, writes DailyMail.

Ruth published several family photos of them, describing the pain she experiences every day: “A year, 12 months, 365 days … no matter what I say, the painful truth remains the same, you are no longer here”.

She revealed that she often has nightmares about Liam’s final moments and admitted that she still can’t accept his loss. “I underestimated the grief,” she wrote. “You are the loss of my life, the person I will miss every day of my life.”

The singer’s sister confessed that Liam’s son, Bear, has changed a lot this year and that she misses his father.

She added that she often tries to feel her brother’s presence in small details of everyday life: “I say ‘goodnight’ to the stars, in case I can find you there.”

At the end of the tribute, Ruth urged people to remember that, beyond fame, Liam was a beloved son, father and brother. She concluded with the touching words: “Always with love, Liam — in every life.”

Meanwhile, fans held a memorial service in Argentina, outside the hotel where he lost his life, while the family announced that donations in his memory have raised nearly 250,000 pounds (approximately 287,000 euros) for Great Ormond Street Children’s Hospital, turning Liam Payne’s memory into a legacy of help and love.
