Bruno Fernandes has been named Manchester United’s Player of the Season for the fifth time in his career, setting a new record in the club’s history.
After being initially voted “Player of the Year” by his teammates, the Portuguese also won the prestigious “Sir Matt Busby Player of the Year” award, which is decided by votes from Man Utd fans.
With this triumph, Fernandes surpasses legends David de Gea and Cristiano Ronaldo, who had won this award four times each.
He also becomes only the second player in the club’s history to win this trophy three years in a row, after De Gea.
At the age of 31, Fernandes continues to be the main figure of this period at Manchester United and is having one of the most productive seasons of his career.
The midfielder has registered eight goals and 19 assists in the Premier League, closing in on the record for the most assists in a single season.
