Juventus May Offload Players to Finance Permanent Chiesa Return

News

Juventus are reportedly close to reaching an agreement to bring Federico Chiesa back to Turin during the January transfer window. According to recent reports, the Bianconeri are considering a permanent move for the 28-year-old winger as they look to strengthen their attacking options under head coach Luciano Spalletti.

Chiesa was sold to Liverpool for around €15 million just 18 months ago, with only one year remaining on his Juventus contract at the time. Due to high financial demands and concerns over his injury history, the two parties failed to agree on a new deal, leading to his departure in a cut-price transfer.

Now, Juventus are eager to reunite with the Italian international in an effort to add quality and depth to their attack. Liverpool are reportedly open to selling Chiesa but prefer a permanent transfer rather than a loan deal with an option to buy.

Reports this week suggest Juventus could propose a loan move with an obligation to buy, a deal that would total around €15 million, including the loan fee and the mandatory purchase clause.

To make room for the transfer financially, Juventus may need to reshuffle their squad. According to Calciomercato.com, the club is considering selling João Mário during this transfer window. The Portuguese defender has reportedly attracted interest from Crystal Palace as well as several clubs in Portugal.

There is also the possibility that Vasilije Adžić could be sent out on loan, a move that could generate additional funds to be reinvested in the Chiesa deal.

Interest has also emerged in centre-back Federico Gatti, but recent reports indicate that the Italian defender is keen to stay at Juventus and has no intention of leaving the Allianz Stadium.
