La Liga President Javier Tebas Harshly Criticizes Real Madrid And Their Complaints

News

La Liga president Javier Tebas has reacted sharply to Real Madrid coach Alvaro Arbeloa’s statements regarding refereeing decisions in the Spanish championship.

Tebas dismissed Arbeloa’s complaints, suggesting his arguments are not sustainable.

“The other say, he said the same thing about the referee in the match with Bayern Munich. It was the same style of argument,” Tebas said, according to Mundo Deportivo .

The La Liga boss continued the criticism, adding: “One day he says one thing, then another, then something else.”

The comments come after Arbeloa questioned the standard of refereeing following Real Madrid’s recent La Liga clash with Girona. He suggested that controversial decisions could be one of the reasons why Real Madrid have had more success in Europe than in domestic competitions in recent years.

However, Tebas urged Madrid to focus on the title race, emphasizing that the season is not over yet.

“Real Madrid must try to continue competing. There are still games in La Liga and there are enough points at stake,” he said.

He also downplayed the possibility that Barcelona would “close” the race quickly, concluding: “Barcelona will not win it all, far from it. I am convinced of that. There are still points to fight for.”
