The lack of minutes in the match against Deportivo Alaves has reinforced the idea that Gonzalo García is close to leaving Real Madrid at the end of the season.
The striker, who came out of the academy, is not finding space in coach Alvaro Arbeloa’s plans.
In their last match, Los Blancos won 2-1 against Deportivo Alaves, in a match where their performance left much to be desired. Meanwhile, pending Barcelona’s result against Celta Vigo, the Madrid team remains six points off the top of the table.
This match confirmed once again the lack of confidence in Gonzalo García, who was not activated at all. In fact, he has had very little space in recent weeks, with his last appearance dating back to against Girona, where he played only a few minutes.
The competition in the attacking department is strong, with names like Kylian Mbappe ahead of him in the hierarchy. Even at times when the team has needed more attacking strength, the coach has preferred other alternatives like Brahim Díaz.
According to Bernabeu Digital, the striker’s future is increasingly distant from the “Santiago Bernabeu”, with recent decisions only reinforcing this trend.
Given his potential and goal-scoring instinct, Gonzalo García is expected to attract interest from several clubs. It remains to be seen whether Real Madrid will choose to loan him out or sell him permanently, perhaps with a buy-back clause, as they have done previously with players like Nico Paz and Jacobo Ramon.
