Kylian Mbappe & Harry Kane Set to Reach 40 Goals This Year

News

Kylian Mbappe and Harry Kane are having an incredible 2025/26 season, yet both still lag behind the historic standard set by Lionel Messi.

By the end of April 2026, Mbappe has already passed the 40-goal threshold, reaching 41 goals in all competitions with Real Madrid and the French national team.

On the other hand, Kane is very close to this target, with 33 goals scored for Bayern Munich and several matches still to be played until the end of the season.

Although these figures are at an elite level, they also highlight the greatness of Messi’s legacy.

His record of 10 seasons with over 40 goals remains an unmatched standard in modern football.

For Mbappe, who has five such seasons, and Kane, with four, the challenge lies not only in reaching this limit this season, but in maintaining this extraordinary pace for several years in a row, in order to really approach the Argentine’s historic peak.
