Real Madrid Star Will MISS The World Cup Due To Injury

News

Real Madrid’s Brazilian defender Eder Militao will undergo surgery this week in Finland, following the injury he suffered in the match against Alaves.

The player was forced to leave the field due to discomfort in the back of his thigh, which was later diagnosed as an injury to the femoral biceps of his left leg by the Madrid club’s medical staff.

The decision to have surgery means Militao will miss the World Cup, while the recovery period is expected to last around five months, another serious blow to his injury-plagued career.

Initially, the player had also considered the possibility of a conservative treatment, which would reduce the time of absence to around five weeks and potentially give him the opportunity to be available for the Brazilian National Team.

However, this alternative carried a higher risk of recurrence of the injury, which led him to choose surgical intervention as the safer option.

This is Militao’s third muscle injury this season, in which he has only managed to play around 20 games.

A previous injury, also involving the tendon, sidelined him for four months, missing 24 games.

Physical problems have been constant for the Brazilian in recent years.

In August 2023 he suffered a ruptured cruciate ligament in his left knee, only returning in March 2024.

In November of that same year, he suffered another complete rupture of the cruciate ligament, this time accompanied by damage to both meniscuses, which kept him out until July 2025.

The current situation poses another serious challenge for the defender, who aims to return to his best form after a long difficult period.
