Barcelona are expected to part ways with several players this summer, with the aim of securing income that will be used for new signings.
In addition to names like Marc-Andre ter Stegen, Marc Casado and Ferran Torres, another player who has entered the list of those who could leave is Rooney Bardghji.
The 20-year-old winger joined Barcelona last summer from FC Copenhagen for around €2.5m, but his first season in Catalonia has been mixed. He has registered two goals and four assists in 25 appearances in all competitions, although he has received the majority of his minutes from the bench – given that his direct competition is Lamine Yamal.
In March, Bardghji went public with his dissatisfaction with his playing time, which has prompted the club to make a decision in the summer. According to Sport, Barcelona are currently keeping all options open regarding his future.
The club does not see the situation as urgent ahead of the transfer window, and is happy with his performances. But if Bardghji does not accept that he will occasionally have a secondary role, Barcelona are ready to let him leave – but only for the right price.
What is striking is that, according to the report, Barcelona have set a minimum price of 10 million euros for a possible sale. If an offer of this value were to come in, the directors would seriously consider it, although the final decision would also depend on the player himself.
The report adds that there is a growing likelihood that Bardghji will leave this summer, which would be a blow for Hansi Flick, given that the Swede has shown good form in the few minutes he has played. In the event of a departure, Barcelona are expected to find a replacement – with the most likely one coming from La Masia.
