Kylian Mbappé made explosive comments after revealing details of a conversation with Álvaro Arbeloa.
Mbappé claimed Arbeloa told him he is currently the “fourth attacker” in the squad behind Vinícius Jr., Gonzalo García, and Franco Mastantuono.
The French star admitted he was surprised by the decision but insisted he respects the coach’s choices and must work harder to regain his place.
The comments came after Mbappé started on the bench and was booed by sections of the Santiago Bernabéu crowd upon entering the match.
Arbeloa later denied directly calling him the “fourth attacker,” saying the situation may have been misunderstood and explaining the decision was mainly linked to Mbappé’s recent injury recovery.
