Barcelona have made an official offer for Newcastle United winger Anthony Gordon, reports The Athletic ‘s David Ornstein .
According to Ornstein, the Catalans’ offer for the 25-year-old is 80 million euros plus bonuses, but there is still no agreement, as talks for the England international are ongoing.
“Barcelona have made an offer to sign Anthony Gordon from Newcastle United. The offer is €80m + bonuses; still no agreement, as talks continue,” Ornstein wrote.
He adds that interest from other clubs remains active, but Barcelona and Bayern Munich are currently considered the parties in the strongest position to secure Gordon’s services.
Gordon’s potential move to Barcelona is being hailed as a surprising move, given his importance to Newcastle and the player’s profile in the Premier League.
