AC Milan has immediately begun work to appoint a new coach after the dismissal of Massimiliano Allegri, while media in England report that the main candidate is Andoni Iraola.
According to Sky Sports, Milan’s management have officially contacted the representatives of Iraola, who is on the verge of leaving Bournemouth.
The Italian club’s move comes on the same day that Allegri’s dismissal was confirmed, following a surprising defeat in the last round against Cagliari, a result that cost Milan qualification for the Champions League.
On the other hand, Iraola has announced that he will leave Bournemouth, after having a historic season with the “Cherries”, recording an impressive 18-match unbeaten run and ending the championship in sixth place, which secured qualification for European competitions.
The Spanish coach is regarded as one of the most promising names in the Premier League and, according to reports, Milan see him as the main option to lead the new phase of the reconstruction next season.
