Arsenal winger Noni Madueke made one of the biggest mistakes of recent years in England’s victory over Costa Rica on Wednesday night.
England convincingly defeated Costa Rica 3-0 in Orlando in their final warm-up match before the 2026 World Cup.
The English scorers were Declan Rice in the 9th minute for 1-0, Anthony Gordon in the 68th minute from the penalty spot for 2-0 and Ollie Watkins in the 87th minute for the final score 3-0.
However, the Albion’s victory could have been even deeper, as Thomas Tuchel’s players missed many chances.
One of them that stole all the attention was the one in the 36th minute, when England were 1-0 up and could have doubled it.
But Madueke didn’t think so, missing the goal into an empty net despite going past the goalkeeper.
This mishap quickly went viral with football fans not believing what they were seeing.
