Pedro Neto believes Portugal has the quality needed to win the 2026 World Cup, as he has called on the team and fans to believe in the big dream.
The Chelsea striker spoke with optimism after two friendly victories over Chile and Nigeria, stressing that the team is preparing with full confidence for the tournament.
“We’re leaving with good feelings, with two wins in two games. That’s what we wanted – to work on the process and improve the things we needed to improve.”
“We are focused on making this dream a reality.”
The Portuguese winger did not hide his national team’s objective for the World Cup.
“The objective is to win. We have to go game by game, but the dream exists and that is our mentality.”
“I think we have to accept that dream. The Portuguese people know the quality we have in this team.
“We have to believe, go game by game, do our job and get to the end,” he added.
Portugal has been drawn in a group with the Democratic Republic of Congo, Uzbekistan and Colombia, and will play their first match at the World Cup on June 17.
With a team full of stars and high expectations, the Portuguese aim to win the most important trophy in world football for the first time.
