The Portugal national team has decided not to forget Diogo Jota during its journey to the 2026 World Cup, paying a touching tribute to their former teammate.

Shortly before the start of the tournament, the Portuguese footballers received a special gift from the Prime Minister of Portugal, Luis Montenegro.

These are personal bracelets engraved with the names of all the players on the team, as well as Diogo Jota’s name, as a sign of respect and remembrance for the Portuguese striker.

Portugal and Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Vitinha revealed in a press conference that the players decided to wear these bracelets throughout the World Cup.

“We accepted him with great love and decided to keep him,” Vitinha declared, describing the gesture as a special way to have Jota with the team during the tournament.

According to reports, the bracelet is specially designed to comply with FIFA regulations, which allows footballers to wear it even during matches.

This emotional gesture shows the strong bond that exists within the Portuguese camp and the players’ desire to honor a beloved figure of Portuguese football.

For Portugal, the bracelet is not just an accessory, but a symbol of unity, memory and motivation in the greatest challenge in world football.

In this way, Diogo Jota will be part of Portugal’s journey to the 2026 World Cup, at least in the hearts and hands of his teammates.
