Rafael Leao has confirmed he will leave Milan during the summer transfer window, ending a successful spell with the Italian giants.
In an interview with Sport TV Portugal, the Portuguese striker stated that he feels proud of what he has achieved with the red and black jersey, but stressed that the time has come for a new challenge outside of Italy.
“I’m proud because I made history at Milan, but I want a new chapter. I feel ready to play in another league,” said Leao.
The 26-year-old explained that the decision to leave is not related to any dissatisfaction with the club, but to the desire to try a new experience in his career.
“I did my best for Milan, but it’s time to try another challenge,” the Portuguese added.
Since his transfer to Milan, Leao has become one of the most important players in the team and one of the most dangerous strikers in European football. With his excellent performances, he has played a key role in the club’s successes and has become one of the most beloved players for the fans at the San Siro.
After the confirmation of his departure, interest in his services is expected to increase even more. Big clubs from the Premier League and La Liga continue to monitor his situation, while the Portuguese’s future is expected to be one of the hottest topics of the summer transfer market.
