Arne Slot has reportedly emerged as the leading candidate to take over at a European giant, following his dismissal from Liverpool.
Slott was relieved of his duties as Liverpool manager after two seasons in charge on Saturday (May 30), with the club releasing a lengthy statement confirming the decision.
Liverpool’s owners thanked Slotin for his contribution as a coach and also praised the way he led the club after the tragic death of Diogo Jota last summer.
The Dutchman leaves after leading the team in 113 matches, recording 66 wins, 18 draws and 29 losses.
The highlight of his tenure was the 2024/25 Premier League triumph, which was the club’s second title in 35 years.
According to reports from journalist Sacha Tavolieri, the Dutchman could return to training sooner than expected, as he is now the leading candidate to take over at Milan, following the dismissal of Massimiliano Allegri.
The table claims that talks between the club and the coach have already begun.
Milan finished the season in fifth place in Serie A and for the second year in a row remained out of Champions League qualification.
The Italian team lost seven of the last 13 games of the season.
