A few hours before referee Michael Oliver signaled the start of the match between PSG and Benfica for the fourth round of the group stage of the Champions League, a new “telenovela” was revealed at the French club, with Kylian Mbappe in the role main.
Several French media outlets, including Le Parisien, L’Equipe and RMC, as well as Spanish sports daily Marca, reported on Tuesday that the player is frustrated and wants to leave during the January transfer window.
However, in an attempt to dispute this information, Luis Campos, PSG’s sporting director and someone very close to Mbappe, told the Canal+ network that the 23-year-old striker has never told him he wants to leave in January.

The following day, the capital newspaper Le Parisien revealed that there are four reasons why the French striker is determined to end his adventure at the Parc des Princes as soon as possible. We recall that he recently signed a contract renewal that ties him to the club until June 2025.
The first reason Mbappe wants to leave the club is because of the poor relationship he has with current sporting director Luis Campos, who arrived earlier this season to replace Leonardo in the role.
The Portuguese, however, would have made promises that he ultimately did not keep on important issues. “The Parisian star feels cheated on important issues”, said the medium in question.

At the same time, another reason for leaving arose and this is due to his position in the field. The management had promised the 23-year-old Frenchman the transfer of a center forward, so that he would become the point of reference for every ball in attack, as Mbappe himself defined using an ironic tone in one of his posts on Instagram.
The third reason why he has determined his departure is due to a theme based on the style of play. When signing his renewal, he was told that the tactical system would evolve from a 4-3-3 to a 4-4-2 with two clear strikers and others arriving on the wings. Something that could not be accomplished by not hiring a pure striker.

Finally, the fourth and last reason, is none other than his personal relationship with the big stars and above all with Neymar, with whom he shared a fiery debate in the middle of a league match over the execution of a penalty. Since that episode, the Brazilian continues to assume that it was Mbappe who expressly asked the club’s leadership for him to leave the team.
