Alvaro Arbeloa Makes Shocking Statement – No Chance I Stay With Mourinho

Real Madrid coach Alvaro Arbeloa has confirmed that he will end his adventure at the Madrid club after the final match of the season against Athletic Bilbao, while also denying any possibility of joining Jose Mourinho’s staff if the Portuguese returns to the “Santiago Bernabeu”.

“I hope this is just a ‘goodbye’, because this will always be my home. I have been part of Real Madrid for 20 years in different roles and I will always consider it my home. This will be my last match with Real Madrid… I don’t know if it will be the last of my career,” Arbeloa declared.

He also spoke about speculation linking him to a role on Mourinho’s staff, dismissing them.

“I’m not here to talk about possibilities. Mourinho has a fantastic staff and is very well supported. If he comes to Madrid, he will bring his staff… there is no chance of me being part of it. Starting from Monday, I will have to think about what is best for me. I have already taken the big step and have improved a lot in these four months,” he added.

In the end, Arbeloa emphasized the emotions that the last match brings in front of the Madrid fans.

“It’s a big match, a farewell to the fans. The last home match is always special and different. The most important thing is to make the fans enjoy it,” the Spanish coach concluded.
