Lionel Messi was the protagonist in Inter Miami’s 2-0 victory over the Portland Timbers in the MLS regular season.
The Argentine star opened the scoring in the 31st minute after an assist from Telasco Segovia, and then became an assister in the 42nd minute, providing the crucial pass to German Berterame for the second goal.
With his latest goal, Messi has now scored 910 goals in his career, in 1,154 official matches. His tally includes 672 goals with Barcelona, 116 with the Argentina national team, 89 with Inter Miami and 32 with Paris Saint-Germain.
In addition to goals, the Argentine striker has also recorded 412 assists during his career.
The performance continues Messi’s excellent form, which has now seen him score in four consecutive games. He scored twice against Cincinnati, as well as finding the net against Toronto and Orlando City.
In total, Messi has recorded 12 goals and five assists in 13 appearances this season in MLS.
Meanwhile, Cristiano Ronaldo continues to hold first place in the all-time goalscoring list, with 971 goals in 1,322 appearances for clubs and the Portuguese national team.
