According to Mundo Deportivo , Barcelona have made contact to inquire about the situation of Real Betis striker Ez Abde ahead of a possible summer move.
The Catalan giants have included their former player on their wish list for the summer transfer window, with the aim of strengthening their left wing attack.
The Moroccan international has a release clause of 60 million euros, while Barcelona have retained 20% of his economic rights.
Abde’s excellent form with Betis this season has attracted interest from several clubs, including Newcastle United and Aston Villa.
However, the Verdiblancos are reluctant to sell the 24-year-old, who has registered 14 goals and 13 assists in all competitions and has been crucial in the Spanish club’s qualification for the Champions League.
Abde’s value could increase even more in the upcoming World Cup, depending on his performances with the Atlas Lions.
Barcelona are expected to assess his performances in the tournament before deciding whether to intensify their interest.
